I'm a geek and a gamer, and I don't hate Star Wars at all. Stop trying to generalize the fandom as united in it's hate. There's plenty of us who have been fans since the beginning and still are.

While I love Geeks and Gamers, The Critical Drinker, The Little Platoon, Mauler, and all the rest, I more or less lost interest, even though I believe that there are valid criticisms to be had. I largely don't pay any attention to the insanity that's engulfed Lucasfilm and Disney anymore and have moved on for the most part because I am not the 'modern' audience that's this being aimed towards.

With that said, there are elements of 'Disney' Star Wars I've really enjoyed, but it's mostly their earlier stuff like Rogue One, Solo, most of their animated shows barring Tales from the Empire, Bad Batch S3 and Resistance; those were either just plodding, tone deaf, or anti-climactic. Battlefront II and Fallen Order were okay, Squadrons was a mixed bag, but I grew up playing X-wing and TIE Fighter and as dated as they may be, those games were and are the best of the bunch!

The great news is that through the power of modding and third party mission builders (and level editors for older games like Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Empire at War, etc.) people can bring their own fan-fiction stories to life.

I think that's what bums me out. Certainly it's fine to critique a product, but at some point (and we're talking over half a decade now), if you want content you like and its obvious the people holding the rights aren't going to do that, it's sort of up to you to provide the alternative.
