Man them damn operator's should b charged as well. Idgaf how old they were. They screamed...."the green light was green light was on" but they never physically checked him. Not to mention HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE RIDE IN THE FIRST PLACE ‼️

We already knew that. The question is why did they let him on? And then not even check his restraints. Its giving negligence…

The harness did not fail. If you look at the video it was still in the exact same position as he sat in. Remember the ride is tiled 30 degrees and experiences -2G forces. He slipped through the opening due to the G forces when the magnetic brake’s engaged. basically it was not his weight, it was the lack of pressing down more on the shoulder restraint to be a snug fit to not allow the rider to slip through

Actually I looked at the video again and the Harness failed and latched itself in the fully closed position. You can see it when he slips out immediately and you can see it once the ride came back, the seat was fully closed.

He was too young to make the right decision. Hence why the ride operators are there.

I was in a hot air balloon accident due to operator error. The pilot allowed 2 obese women (combined weight of at least 600lbs) into the basket. I knew it didn’t make sense to allow the equivalent of FOUR extra people on, but thought the pilot WOULD never put himself and others in danger! I almost died that day

Definitely sounds like a wrongful death lawsuit, but that won’t bring this child back, hopefully it will ease some of the pain and suffering for the family.

I saw the ride attendant in the video the day after my very first thought that he seem unqualified or maybe under the influence

The seat what clearly not locked right prior to falling after boy came out the restraint probably locked as it came to a stop it engaged. Seriously the people who ran ride and was responsible for checking should have charges of manslaughter send the message when the public is in your hands as an employee it is your responsibility to do your job right. Especially something like this

Please, I want this GM to take the stand in a lawsuit and state this claim. If he does maybe they can seek criminal charges as well. It's apparent what happened here. This young life was lost because his body was squeezed through this opening via the high gforce acting on his body. If the gforce experienced was over 2g, that means forces in excess of 700lbs! If it's not needed, how did he fall through? Let me guess, it was the boys fault? Please, sue this company for every penny it has!

The company is correct, IT WORKS AS DESIGNED! It locks and does a GREAT JOB AT THAT! What it fails to do is to restrain people from falling. THAT IS THE POINT OF THE LOCKS! If it locks and people fall through, YOU HAVE A FAULTY ENGINEERING DESIGN! END OF STORY! Sue them and shut it down!

The manual doesn't lie. Whether or not ICON park chooses to read over it in full, and go by the rules of the ride or nor, isn't the manufacturers fault. It's on the park itself. The ride isn't to blame. The blame lies on the park and unfortunately the parents for not asking enough questions and just putting their trust with untrained inexperienced park employees. It's premature to suggest from his dad that we need to ban this ride. Don't take away my freedom all because you son died when he should not have been on there in the first place, May he rest in peace.

The employees never checked each rider to ensure harness was fit and locked! They immediately said "the light was on, the light was on" Lying look at video no one around! TRYING TO CYA!

If the operators did their job and not let him on because of his weight he would be alive, but operators were too worried about hurting his feelings aka fat shaming. prayers to his family.

You can’t say he too big, and then say well he was locked in properly but he slipped out. They trying to put the blame on this 14 yo. Those workers were careless, maybe they wanted to see if he would fall out, maybe they thought he would be ok but either way if he was secured he wouldn’t have fallen.

Careless staff .. why children should not be in charge of these type of responsibilities at an amusement park!! They become responsible for unfortunate situations such as this!! Smh
