Good review as always but Buying a helmet from amazon... go to your local bike shop meet the people running them and try them if we don't use local bike shops they will very soon be a thing of the past

Arai or Shoei is all I have ever worn. Money well spent when I rode thumpers in the Australian bush. Cracked my noggin more than once and my old Arai saved my bacon numerous times. On the asphalt I chose a Shoei GT-Air and I can’t fault it. In 40C it has excellent air flow for cooling and the liner is as plush as it gets. Not inexpensive by any means but I trust hand made Japanese gear over all others. Still to be convinced by less expensive lids. A case of brand loyalty me thinks.

Hey Mate! I absolutely love mine. In fact my avatar is the Qwest! Excellent fit, extremely comfortable, very aerodynamic, and the biggest thing of all is I feel safe wearing it. I just wish the headliner was swappable. but hey, I can live with that. You can't beat the value this thing delivers. It looks pretty good, too! The graphics are beautifully applied. A winner in every respect. Cheers!

Thanks. Very timely review. Spotted one of these in my size on sale, and have been wondering for a week or two. After seeing your video yesterday morning, I went out and bought it yesterday afternoon. Lighter than everything else in my fathead size.

Upgraded my Quest back end of last year with a GT Air. Agree re. good for spec wearers, a good comfortable well specced lid..  The GT Air is a tad lighter, quieter, plus the drop down sun visor works a treat even when wearing specs.... Good old Shoei, been wearing their brain buckets for over 30 years, worth every penny.

Dear Mr Flyer, the EPS lining is actually bonded to the inside of the shell and isn't detachable. It's literally just  white polystyrene packaging material. The detachable bit is the comfort liner but it's far more important than just comfort. Good vid as always.

My Schuberth C3Pro is a great helmet but I wouldn't mind getting a none modular and I am leaning toward Shoei, they do make superb helmets.

Try Shoei Ryd, it also got 5 start rating, just more modern, comfy & posh.

Love my Shoei Neotech flip front. Works with glasses internal sun visor and the flip works well so far in filling stations where there are remove helmet signs.

Still the best touring helmet even today. Very quiet and comfortable. You can find a few available at steep discounts as you noted. Cheers!

Funnily enough only received my new Shoei Neotec 2 a couple of days ago. My first Shoei and I'm really impressed, quieter than my Schuberth C3 Pro, which is meant to be one of the quietest. I suffer with tinnitus so quietness a big issue for me. Neither helmet would suit you I don't think - both flip-ups and both have ratchet fasteners which I think are far better. Cheers, Jon.

Bit of a fan of Shoei crash helmets. Currently using a flip front Neotec 1. At the NEC motorcycle live show I spoke to the Shoei representative and he told me of the imminent release of the Neotec 2. It looks like a restyled version of the previous iteration and is a bit on the pricey side, but as my old man used to say “if you have a £10 head then by a £10 helmet”. Best features on the Neotec, without doubt the flip down sun visor and the recessed padding which allows for use spectacle wearers to put on their glasses with the minimum of fuss. I also dispensed with the chin breath guard ‘shroud’ thing, just could not get on with it. One final thing to mention is the quality of the paint finish on Shoei helmets in general, always seems a shame to wear them! Any news on when you will road test the Kawasaki Z900RS?

Thanks, just bought one because I'm going deaf with my current one. I'm really looking forward to wearing a decent quality helmet for a change and experiencing a bit of comfort. Thanks again for the video.
