I urge everyone to watch " The Pledge(2001) movie starring Jack Nicholson. The movie is so brilliant, many top A list actors, extremely distributing ending and heart wrenching .
The background music is a symphony.
I'm a huge fan of detective movies. If you are one, you will surely not be disappointed.

if they had ended Shutter Island with a comment about portland vs seattle and showed that the other detective had it wrong, it would have been so much better. (showing that it wasn't a delusion etc) I've always felt that the ending was too trite, but one comment could expose another layer.

The Zodiac killer was never found. There are a plethora of theories to who/whom the killer(s) are but no one was ever charged. The movie ended with an angle leaning to who police suspected at that time. For you who didnt like the ending that because the case is still open.
