33. Improper Integrals - Part 5 - Evaluating an Improper Integral (Infinite Discontinuity)

In this video, we evaluate a type II improper integral, that is, one in which the integrand has an infinite discontinuity on the interval of integration. We determine if the integral converges by following the three steps below.

We
(1) write the improper integral as a limit,
(2) evaluate the proper integral using the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, and
(3) compute the limit of the result.

Of course, we always interpret the answer geometrically.
