At last a decent Fairey Battle in 1/72 scale from Azur (Special Hobby), a few reservations but I think a good solid kit.
What do you think?

As expected, another outstanding build, Neil. You've really done justice to this model. Azur/Special Hobby have captured the lines of the Battle perfectly. I agree as well that Airfix need to step up and produce a Battle, especially in 1/48, more than ever now the Trumpeter offering appears to be falling short of the mark.
Great work. 👍

I agree with the Battle in the looks department. Doesn't get enough love but you nailed it. I really like your relaxed style as you work as well. Fantastic finish! Never seen decals like that...interesting. -Dan

I noticed this in the background of your last builds. Very pleased you put it out properly!. Just built one in the Belgian colours. It’s a beautiful kit. Great work!.

Fantastic build also love the Battle even if it was a failure, agree that Airfix should get there finger out and produce a new version. Just a quick one the gun wasn't a Lewis but a Vickers K later famously adopted by the SAS.

Great job! For mud effects, maybe try flory thick wash, much thicker than the ordinary wash! Had no idea they used same type of decal as eduard either. Top job on a beautiful aircraft!

Good job. You know Revell do a matt paint colour called Anthracite which is a slightly off-black and very useful I found where you don't want straight black.

A fitting build to all those brave guys who jumped aboard………..

Great build and a very informative video. I’ve have two of these in my stash and plan build one as the RAF version and one as the Belgian variant. I already had a heads up on the decals from the guys at Azur / Special Hobby; they provide good customer service if you mail them.

Nice build!
Azur have made an error in the colour of the canopy, and the fuselage decking below.
In the 'A' Scheme, only the windscreen and the sliding hood were to follow the camo pattern, the rest should be D/Green (including the aerial mast), and the decking should be Dark earth.

Nice build! I’ve come close to splashing out on it but was put off by the cost of the Eduard masking set. Hopefully an old Airfix Defiant decal sheet will provide similar roundels - think it’s a similar size and you can’t beat Cartograph!

Very nice, I would like A Battle some day and that might be ok .

Great work again Neil😊can I ask….. in your experience are there many manufacturers that do not provide crew figures in 1:72 scale??? Personally I prefer the crew figurines with the kits🤔

Excellent work!👍. If you don`t spill paint, you don`t build models. I am somewhat bilingual so I can swear in two languages when it happens.

Very nice work and a great review. Were those (and Eduard's) decals actually designed to have the carrier film removed or was that just a discovery?

That's excellent!!
What primer? I've just been stung by the 'new improved' Halfords primer that used to be chunks just lifted away despite sprue wash, gentle light sand and isopropyl and utter mess.🤯

Have you considered getting a circle cutter, and just making masks, and painting the roundels?

Btw the 1.48 Trumpy kit is massively out compared to this. The Frrom/azur kit is very accurate .

Did you know that a lot of early war planes had wooden props particularly the early Hurricane so chipping them isn't really accurate
