For those who don't know, this song is inspired from the real life story of Kate Barker (also referred to as Ma Barker by many, this song uses Ma Baker in order to have the rhythmic melody), a notorious criminal and gangster who was associated with all sorts of crimes in the early 20th century and she was assisted by her 4 sons (as mentioned in the song). She ultimately was killed in an encounter in 1935. She along with her sons ran the notorious Barker-Karpis criminal gang.

The final encounter of Barker and her gang with FBI occured in 1935, which till date stands as the longest lasting encounter shootout of the FBI.
