Yaz was everywhere in the underground scene early 80s. Allison Moyet's voice is one of a kind. Yaz always puts a smile on my face and pep in my step.

I can remember when I was a 7 year old in 1982, hearing this song on the radio for the very first time. I was in the car with my grandma and cousin. It was a Sunday morning. That's how deeply I connected with this pop tune LOL

It's Synthpop with a almost...early EBM touch to it... Almost has a Front 242 sound to it. Truly a head of its time. I live for this music.

Blue eyed dressed for every situation
Moving through the doorway of a nation
Pick me up and shake the doubt
Baby I can't do without
Don't mess around
You bring me down
How you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
I remember only for an hour
Move right through me, can you feel the power?
I don't know what's going on
It scares me but it won't be long
Don't mess around
You bring me down
How you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
Move out, move out
Move out
Move out, move out
Move out
Now he's in control, he is my lover
Nations stand against him, he's your brother
Been a long time, been a long time now
I'll get to you somehow
don't mess around
(Move out) you bring me down
(Move out) how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
don't mess around
(Move out) you bring me down
(Move out) how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
Move out, move out
Move out
don't mess around
(Move out) you bring me down
(Move out) how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
Now he's in control, he is my lover
Nations stand against him, he's your brother
Been a long time, been a long time now
I'll get to you somehow
don't mess around
(Move out) you bring me down
(Move out) how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
don't mess around
(Move out) you bring me down
(Move out) how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out

This and 'Don't Go' .. 2 best club songs, Both on same album!. Both topped USA club charts and instantly filled dance floors. Two songs people most anticipated to get the place going. Vince best synth pop genius, Moyet best female vocalist.
'Upstairs At Eric's 'one of the best, most soulful albums of all time. Includes greatest ballad 'Only You and 'Midnight' This was my album of the 80's personally. It mimicked my life through those years.

Omg!!! Went dancing to this song in the clubs many times back in the great 80s!!! Absolutely love this song!!! Got everyone on the dance floor every time!! They don't make songs like this anymore!! Everything is so boring now especially with politics!! If you're depressed put this song on and start dancing!!!❤

I was 11 in 1980 and remember being jealous of my older siblings for not being old enough to really appreciate the great 70s rock that was on the radio. However, looking back, I now realize far and away the 80s was the best decade for not only rock music but for all genres of music, and it's not even a debate.

When I'm getting ready to go out I play this song as loud as I can without blowing my speakers. Whether it's 9pm or 1am. I cannot understand anyone who doesn't like this song. In my opinion this song is ahead of it's time & we are days away from 2020. I used to think I would be dead by now. Somehow I'm still kicking it despite being born in 1966, Opino lo mismo 20/12/2023
