Creates an atmosphere of hopeless and despair but in such a beautiful way.

Always loved this track because it's the only Doom track I can think of that actually makes you feel sad instead of angry

Hearing this song in this quality reminds me that it wasn't always about heavy metal knockoffs like most of Bobby Prince's work, depressing macabre soundscapes like Aubrey Hodges, or busy techno numbers like Mick Gordon. Doom music can work outside those stereotypes & still be very compelling.

This song defines doomguy's true self deep beneath. Scarred for life, cares about nothing other than slaying demons, lost the only one thing he loved, stayed in hell for millions of years without seeing the light of the day. He's broken deep beneath and cannot be fixed... hence why he doesn't talk at all in doom eternal until the end of ancient gods.

The level is called "Phobos anomaly" (E1M8). This is Greek for "fear perversion" which is exactly what you feel when you are playing that level...

When you've slain the Barons of Hell ruling the Phobos Anomaly and realize the only way forward is into Hell itself.

When you've killed nearly all the demons, then you see your reflection in a pool of blood and discover the last one.

This song gave me shivers as a kid, and it still does now. The callback in Doom Eternal should have been a tad longer but still gave me more chills...I think its a bad heating issue here lol

To be brutally honest, I would have liked DOOM more if it was originally a terrifying, dark horror game rather than a fast-paced action game.
But I guess that's why DOOM 64 and DOOM 3 were made, to add a more horror oriented tone to the franchise, even if some people didn't like it and enjoyed the original heavy metal classics. Please don't hate me for this as this Is just my honest opinion and of course, I completely respect other people's prefered style.

Nah but this is a near perfect remaster of the original MIDI track. You've perfectly captured that dread, sadness, darkness and stoic acceptance that you feel in this level of the game. I love this cover so much, and tip my Big Fucking Gun to you, mate.

You are the only one to even BEGIN the song correctly. No audio but drums, carry over into choir, hammer on the guitar. Beautiful job and a flawless recreation of the original.

Most amazing version of e1m8 I've ever heard. Every bit of it is so balanced, eerie, haunting, but beautiful. Great job!

This is my most beloved song in Doom soundtrack. I love every part of it, the guitar, the synth and the drumbeat. Thank you for remastering this one. I'd put this one to my ringtone for sure.

"I must kill the demons!, " he shouted. "No, John, " the radio crackered, "you ARE the demons!" Then John was a zombie!

Causa una cierta sensación de desesperanza, por que es como si sonara a : "bueno, no hay nada más que hacer.... Sufriré eternamente"
