Rishi Sunak apologised for his lateness as he arrived for an interview with ITV’s Paul Brand, telling him D-day commemorations in Normandy 'all just ran over'.

The interview created a big election headache for Sunak last week, with the prime minister forced to apologise for missing part of the D-day commemorations in France to record it. Sunak was heavily criticised for leaving the 80th anniversary events early for a pre-recorded programme, with opposition parties calling it crass and a dereliction of duty.

Sunak previously said he doesn't have any working class friends, but pretends to understand their hardships - watch his YouTube video on working class friends.

Wow, clear Normandy was just a fly-in-fly-out photo op for him and he does not give a rats @ss about what it was actually about.

That side shot is ridiculous. It looks like one of those perspective optical illusions. He's so tiny 😂
