Why is the US so afraid of a Chinese 'Spy Balloon'?

First off they already tried to take away Chinese new year by calling it Lunar new year. So this weather balloon should rightfully be called a Lunar balloon.

US politicians have had a field day bragging over shooting down of low-tech Chinese balloons.
It at least shows US airforce is still a force to be reckoned with; it’s by no means a small achievement!
But the pilots were born a few decades too late or US would not have lost in Korean, Vietnam or Afghanistan wars etc. with tail between its legs.
Apart from a usual protest, China would not have been be bothered too much as to its balloons.
China has had many thousands of years of experiences in dealing with 外番，literally it means foreign barbarians who would renege on promise.
USA is the latest foreign barbarian who has had reneged on numerous promises internationally.
As China who the US has despised for many years is rising beyond anyone’s expectations; US, particularly its gullible politicians are losing their sleeps desperately trying to contain China’s rise.
Their all-out chip war against China is the latest dastardly act but it has boomeranged back to their own feet as the Chinese market shrinks, US high-tech industries have to retrench hundreds of thousands of jobs recently.
Unlike the hegemonic US, China who has upheld a policy of non-interference of others’ internal affairs, will continue to rise by quietly concentrating on trades, military buildup and nation building.
Just let the US who barks like a mad dog but not a kilometre of high-speed railway is built or its incompetence to solve it’s metropolitan cities’ millions of homelessness!!!

You've got to admire the stealthy nature of the F22. The balloon was not able to detect it.
