They're called "Twinkly". I bought them like 3 years ago.
Here are some info about them:
1. *They want you to connect the lights with FB account* (you can also use Google)
2. They work via Bluetooth and *they need Wi-Fi connection.*
3. (at least my version of lights) Comes with a remote, which changes lights to different styles
4. Lights need to know, where are they placed. You can set them up in 3 options: Take one photo, which covers just one side of the tree, and it looks perfect on one side, take some photos from each side, or *you can use GPS to locate each light.*

5. You can customize the light patterns! You can click on the pattern you like, then tap edit, and you can customize colours! Personally I chose this feature to make regular colourful lights (red, yellow, green, blue lights or sth like that), but with other colours.

Edit: I just want to mention, that there are also Twinkly balcony lights!
You can also buy lights by their quantity or sth. I bought version with 100 lights, but I saw one expensive box with 400 lights! Enjoy your Christmas!

That's just easy to make. I just need Arduino, LEDs, and bluetooth module, and give every lamp dots an ID, and whenever I touch visual tree on my phone, detect the touched LED ID, and then send a 'set_color' command via Bluetooth module to Arduino and set the color to the destination lamp ID. 😊
