Gray Wolf Howls A Spring Song

Hello, Spring! 🌸

Silas is a captive-born gray wolves who resides at the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC), a 501c3 non-profit organization, in South Salem, NY. As an Ambassador wolf, Silas helps teach the public about wolves and their vital role in the environment.

😄 I love how he starts out real unenthusiastic, just doing it out of perceived obligation; like: "YEAH I'll do the thing for the group..."

then he starts to really lean into it like "...but that doesn't mean I don't have strong feelings, though, okay!? I have ALL of the thoughts and feelings, actually, now that you ask. Let me show you!" 😂

Many years ago while passing through Wyoming I signed a petition to reintroduce gray wolves into Yellowstone National Park. It worked. Have seen many since including a mom with wolf pups. They are an important “keystone” species that keep the environment healthy and in check.
