I’m sad that this bombed in theaters, I honestly thought this movie was good

One thing I love about Hemsworth's portrayal is we get these hints that despite all the awful AWFUL things Dementus does, he's not a complete psychopath like Joe. He does genuinely help the Rig escape the angry mob here, granted he NEEDS them to deliver his message to Joe, but it shows he's capable of rational thinking. and When he tortures Jack, he doesn't seem to revel in it, he seems to almost disassociate, as if he's trying to pretend it's not happening.

I also get the impression he is TERRIFIED of the Horde, he may be the leader, but he has no REAL control over them, not like Joe does. It makes me think the reason he does what he does to Jack and Furiosa's mother is not out of needless cruelty, but to present himself as someone the Horde should fear, to keep them in line.

It's been pointed out he is a a parallel to Max. And one of Max's first lines in Fury Road is "I exist in this wasteland, reduced to one instinct: survive" And I think that fits Dementus as well, but while Max stays a lone drifter and scavenger to survive, Dementus tried to accrue power as part of his survival strategy, and it blew up in his face.

Cult Classic in a few years. Miller is the real MVP.

anyone who decided to wait until the film is available digitally should regret it because hearing the sound of non-stop roaring engines in the cinema was poetry for the ears

For those who didn’t see this film in either a Dolby theater or an Imax, you missed out on a theatrical event that doesn’t happen very often.

1:00 "Everyone is saying it's my fault! But it's everyone's fault!"

He is such a shiddy leader.. But I love how passionately he completely self-destructs! xD

Dementus was a Great War-lord, but when it came to actually managing a community he was incompetent. He knows how to fight and win, but has no idea how to rule. He would have been better off staying a ravager, but he was so good at ravaging that eventually he got a small slice of what was left of civilisation, so he was a victim of his own success.

@ 1:39 Thats the same guy who gets lifted up to the citadel at the end of Fury Road. Same actor at least.

One thing I loved about this movie was that constant thumping in the soundtrack throughout many of the very drawn out action sequences. Really set that intense and focused mood. Seeing this in the theater was a very unique experience.

@1:39 Didn't notice this guy in theaters; he's the same one who is let up on the platform at the end of Fury Road

This movie had less action but the amount absurd humour it had and the world-building was awesome. Not to mention the performance of the actors. When I saw how long this movie was, I was worried at first but then it didn't stop to be entertaining until the very end. And this was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

This movie has haunted my mind ever since I saw it in the theater. Something about that rage in Furiosa's eyes, it really emerges you

My niece and I had a blast watching this movie - she doesn't even like action movies! Furiosa's willpower was incredible, she could endure what nobody else could imagine - that was her supernatural strength. As a proud uncle, I also love this strong female protagonist a la Ripley in Alien - I can tell it's what made it so easy for my niece to connect to this movie even though it's in a genre she'd usually be uninterested in. 10/10
