this is probably one of the coolest sounds ive heard, definitely sounds sitar-esque with egyptian and subtle swampy southwestern vibes, dope

I been playing for 36 years. Most of those years professionally. It never ceases to amaze me the endless inspiration that's out there. The best feeling a player can feel is feeling small. Because in essence, we all are.

This is very cool. Love how the notes swell into harmony together.

Its incredible how well he plays such a crazily modified guitar

This is a prime example of someone who’s been creating their own music theory to guide them into the perfect type of music they enjoy making

I'm a metal head but my god is this sick. Just the way the notes bloom is epic

This is genuinely so psychedelic. I’d pay you to make one of these for me or share your technique to make one

Quite literally everything from your playing, to your focus and playing face, and to the build and design of your beautiful instrument has me completely captivated. There are no other words for this than beautiful

"Hi, can I get 6 low E strings and 14 high E strings, please"
"You realise that means buying 14 packs of strings, right?"
"It's okay. I don't spend money on clothes"

This guy is a genius!
I heard him playing in Kauai when I was there…
Some luthier out there should make this guy a custom fretless acoustic with built in sympathetic strings…transcendental!!! Hope he makes more vids one day

Years ago, I converted an acoustic guitar to a similar design, sarod-like, resonating strings included, but it didn't play very good (this one in the video is way better, sounds like a vichitra veena). So I converted another one without putting resonating strings, to be played slide, lap style, with four playing strings tuned D A D G and two "chikari" strings. The "indian guitar", or mohan veena, is very close to it and is played slide lap style too.

I stumbled onto this by complete accident, but once I heard this, I couldn't stop listening. I was almost literally hypnotized.
Btw: I'm kind of an amateur luthier, and I'm really impressed how that sounds. I know how much of a pain in the ass it can sometimes be to build a custom instrument and get it precise enough to be able to tune and intonate it. Very nice.

Beautiful sound, it reminds me of a Sitar, especially from the Beatles music that was influenced by Ravi Shankar (whose daughter is Norah Jones). Being brave, far sighted (imagination) and experimenting is how things come to be invented.❣🙂🌹🎄🕊

As a guitarist who loves dabbling in non-traditional tunings, my hat’s off to you for building that beast with good intonation!! Anyone can tell you sound great, but I hope at least some people also appreciate the effort you put into crafting an instrument which sounds, frankly, terrific! Really eye-catching too, so also an A+ for showmanship.

I can feel the hot of the Sahara. I don't like that, but this man with his strange guitar is awesome, you have a great technique and sense of music!

the fact that he can play the whole thing and still nail the harmonics is bonkers
