Its a car developed by GM Holden in Australia. The car is actually a stripped down version of Holden's top of the line WM Caprice. Google it. It's a Aussie car.

@yamahonkawazuki I think there using Australia's Holden commadore ss 6.0 litre V8 and Holden's V6 which goes in the normal Commadore. does that answer your question? : )

@OGMrE No. This is the G8's bigger cousin. The G8 in Australia is the VE Holden Commodore, the Caprice is a modified Holden Caprice. Both were designed and built here, and exported all over the world

Good to see Aussie cars selling well overseas. The U.S has given us so many awesome vehicles over the years, we're just returning the favour. In 2006 General Motors Holden designed the "Zeta" platform. Zeta is the sixth numeric letter in the Greek alphabet, Australian Holden VIN numbers all start with 6. The Zeta platform is rumoured to be the base for future Cadillac and Buick flagships as well as Aussie Holdens. The new Camaro was the first US car to use Zeta platform.

We use these cars in Australia (Police cars). The V8 and V6 have exceptional handling. They're called the Holden Commodore and have been used for years in Australia.

I'm a Holden fan so no surprises there but I'm stunned to hear that the F6 is no good coz I thought with all that torque it should be able to keep up at least? Is it the BA of FG F6?

Aussies have been driving this vehicle for a few years now, in Statesman and Caprice forms. Also, police in the same country are currently using the shorter wheel-based version to great effect.

You cannot overstate the importance of RWD in high performance applications.

@MyriadVidz, the Caprice is a longer wheel base version of the Commodore which in Australia is kitted out as a locally-made luxury car. In Australia police use the Commodore (V6 or V8) based because they are cheaper, faster and handle better but GM obviously decided that American cops would prefer the bigger Caprice.

@FORDRAClNG I guess you haven't considered its weight. He did mention the space for "equipment"

@DamnHook I agree, although there are a lot of lessons to be learned from Holden, the two main ones being handling and efficiency. A Pontiac G8, Chevrolet Caprice, Holden Commodore and Holden Caprice can freely interchange parts between the four of them as easily as swapping video cards in two computers.

yea this car has been sold in Australia for years and so has the pontiac g8 and gto under GM's Holden division under caprice, commadore and lumina ss

How much room is in the back seat so when I get arrested I will know? And make that the front seat only goes back a little. I need room in the back.

I have a very simular car to this one. It's called a HSV Grange. Runs a 6.2L 6 speed auto. It has 427hp and uses 3.67 gallon to 62 mile. Which I fell is pretty good. I love it. The car in this video is Holden Caprice which is the luxury version of the commodore but has a longer wheel base. The cops over there are going to love them.
