It could take Britain up to a decade to negotiate a trade deal with America - if it decides to leave Europe, Barack Obama has warned - provoking more outcry from Brexit campaigners.

But it's the Home Secretary Theresa May who's been under pressure today - as she admitted that controlling immigration into the UK would be harder - given Europe's rights to free movement. Our senior Home affairs correspondent Simon Israel reports.

stand tall, stand proud !, vote brexit, we said we would never be slaves, yet we are becoming them... let's again rule the waves, and send a ripple across the globe that we want true democracy, and not capital driven unelected bs we currently have... and the Obama thing is all about TTIP... and our meps rejected it ..

So hard to see past all the manipulation on both sides. I consider it a MASSIVE imposition for Obama to involve himself in this issue when he has no idea WHAT loony policies his country will implement when he's gone, especially in light of the hugely unpopular TPP deal that he foisted upon the nation.

Usually like and respect Obama, but he really has no place to be commenting on anything to do with OUR politics. Should of kept his views to himself.

I wonder how Obama and Clinton would react if someone like David Cameron or a member of the royal family were to go on American TV and tell people who to vote for in the US presidential election?

I saw the president on his helicopter and he smiled and I smiled back

Obama: "Back of the que. Could take a decade".
Trump: "Is next Wednesday good for you?"

As an Englishman, i am insulted deeply by this.

We want our country back and Obama wants a trade deal regardless of the population of the UK. Obama may have forgotten about democracy but the British populous have not.

politics is so corrupt it really angers me if I think about it to much.

Says the president that barely did a good trade deal, and tried the Trans Pacific Partnership even against his own base.

America needs us in, they can trade through us and don't have to join. Paul Spikers blog, he's big in social policy and is a professor, has neutral posts with only facts. He calls out both sides so it's great for anyone wanting to make an informed choice.

I just had a thought I'm no expert in politics but I assume Obama would have some sort of say against North carolina's human rights law.

If back of the queue means no TTIP, bring it on.

Him standing there congratulating Angela Merkel for the migrant crisis when the US openly admits arming FSA/ISIS and causing the whole nightmare is classic. I'm sure the US tapping into her cellphone (to confirm Germany's border weaknesses?) will be a topic of discussion.

Get a strong impression now that the remain campaign will be extending lead over leave. Quite cynical how ref is so soon, given a few more months Brexit would stand a better chance.
