I've had this song sitting around for YEARS (first started writing it in 2020!) so it's a relief to finally have it finished! I do find it funny that I went from "Nyeh, I'm a lazy mage'" to "YOU SUCK, DEAL WITH IT" though 🤣

This is definitely one of the darkest songs I've made and it's a slightly different style too since I used a lot of guitar vsts. The lyrics are sort of inspired by SIU and Uminaoshi by MARETU (who's my favorite vocaloid producer btw) but it does take a unique twist on them. So I'm excited to see what people think of it!!

This is my last song for the year and what a year it's been! I managed to post 4 songs this year (NMTTD was close to being in 2023 though so 5ish?) which is definitely an improvement on the 1-2 form past years. Honestly, this year has probably been the best one of my life in terms of happiness and stress levels which is why I've been able to get more done. It's crazy how much more productive you can be when you take care of your physical and mental health lol. I also really realized this year that music is my passion and that I want to dedicate more effort into improving my skills and making more songs!! I'll make a proper community post saying all of this but while I'm here... I really can't thank you guys enough for giving my music a chance, for listening, for all your kind/funny/interesting comments and for giving me the opportunity entertain people with whatever I cook up on the computer in my bedroom. Seriously, thank you 🥹

I love these lyrics so much, man. It's like she's criticizing her creator's faults and deeply regrets the tragedy from happening due to them being so blinded. At the same time, she gleefully laughs at their face because the creator allowed it to happen.

I love this song so much, the blurb that we got has been stuck in my head, and the full version sounds amazing!

Also, it might just be me, but this song reminds me of Coin Locker Baby.

It almost sounds like the singer (parent?) was sexually assaulted, and had a child as a result of it? Maybe the singer is traumatized from the experience, and takes it – as well as their anger – out on the kid, but they come to regret it to some capacity.

It would also tie into the name of the song; since the sexual encounter would have been nonconsensual, and therefore the child – hence the “(Un)Natural Selection.” Or maybe the “You” mentioned in the song was the person who was assaulted?

Just a thought, lol – but either way (I know I said this already, but) I adore this song so much, it sounds so good! <33

Oddly enough I cant shake off the feeling that she is talking to/about herself in multiple points of the song. Often times people can see themselves as gods over their own lives but they can still make mistakes. These mistakes can harm others and themselves, not to mention the pain others can inflict onto them. This can lead to blaming oneself and or others with a deep seeded hatred, paranoia about others and what they could do, harmful self reflections past or present, etc.

Either way this is a beautiful song with a delightful amount of emotion and passion put into it. Please keep doing what you do. It feeds the minds of many others, including yours as well!
