Reassurance seeking is very common within OCD. I have created what I call the "dice of uncertainty". This is helpful for someone who is using reassurance as a compulsion. Each side represents an answer that is uncertain. When you feel the need to ask for reassurance, the goal is to roll the dice and learn to live and even use the answer as an exposure.

This is so scary to do and I like the concept.

Great video. When trying to live with uncertainty, I still feel so stressed that I can't fully concentrate on work, movie or with my family. I oversleep and become very lethargic. How do you stay positive and energetic/mindful while living with uncertainty? I'm doing some self hypnosis for deep relaxation. Some more advise on this would be great. Thanks for all your work on OCD.

You're more of an expert about OCD than I am, but it seems to me like having an answer like "probably" would be harmful. If I'm having an anxious thought, "Did I run someone over, " and the fear of doing so is palpable, it seems like hearing "probably" would only fuel my anxiety. I get the ones that say "maybe, " "possible, " "it's unclear, " etc. since they're more neutral. Probably is more affirmative and it seems like it would/could make anxiety worse. Any response to this @OCD and Anxiety? Thanks
