Whats The Best RV Sewer Hose?

This week we put an RV hose to the test to see if it can live up to the advertisement claims. The advertising made it seem like it is indestructible so we wanted to see for ourselves if it could pass the test. I also give you my recommendations on the hoses we have used and what we like. If you have had a story of an RV Sewer hose failure, you know how important it is to have one you know will last and work well for you.

I know this is an older video, but I am done with the Rhino Flex. It does not hold up to UV light in FL or AZ. We FT and have to replace our hose every 3 months. THe Rhino Extreme lasted over 8 months. Worth the extra cost for sure!!

LOL!!!! To funny! My wife and I full timed for 15 years here in the North East in a Excel by Pederson Industries 5th wheel. Weather ranging from 100 degrees in the summer time to 20 below Zero in the winter. The Rhino flex Extreme failed 1 month into January! Sprung a leak, didn't step on it or anything. We don't full time anymore and I just purchased a Rhino Flex regular hose for my truck camper.

I wish I had watched this before our trip last month to the Grand Canyon. Trailer village. We left our hose out and you were spot on. The ravens poked holes in my sewer hose.

A few comments on the hoses from a 10 year long full-timer - I have found the Rhino Extreme by far the most durable. I've actually had problems with the Rhino Flex cracking and leaking. Lastly, I find the small heads on the Rhino products to be a problem. I don't have a lot of strength in my hands and because of the trim size of the heads, there's nothing to grab on to...no large wings, paddles, or protrusions that my gloved hands can bite into. I struggle to separate the hoses. Even with that issue, I use the Rhino Extreme. It's a great hose.

I got almost 2 years of full time use out of my Rhino Flex Extreme--decent hose. I never did any of that stuff to it though. Eventually it sprang a leak in the hose material. If you're parked in one spot for more than a couple months, using an adapter and straight pipe with a couple rubber connections and threaded fitting at the end is a decent option.

I've been rving for 30 years. I'm full time now that I retired. I can absolutely say that camco is pure garbage. In one week the junk I bought from Walmart for 60.00 had 17 holes and splits in it. Leaks matter. My camco is a rhino. I read over 100 bad reviews on these. Camco refuses to make it right. 60.00 I lost. I won't loose any more with camco.

I have a rhino flex I purchased in May 2022 and it has failed during my last dump. October 2023. it leaked. I am not impressed. I am not a full timer. It is connected in a season site thus we are not hooking and unhooking it.

I've had 2 broken rhino flex hoses in the past year. One cracked, one the fitting came apart. I just switched to the camco you said was manageable.

I swear you can read my mind. I was just pondering this question this morning. And I was also pondering my humidity issue the morning before you posted that video.

The dragging test should have been over gravel, where the gravel would get in between the ribs of the exoskeleton. That's why people use Sidewinders, to avoid pinholes caused by dragging their sewer hose over gravel in campsites. Still a good video, though, thanks.

I would love to see how a hose holds up to UV rays. That has been my biggest issue. Great video thanks!

Hello, I watch almost every informative episode on your channel. I was wondering if you have tested the Camco magnetic end cap. I bought a 20 foot (2x10 ft) Rhino Extreme sewer hose and I have to really push to cram it into my GD2500RL bumper storage tube. Then I also have to cram the end cap on as well. Now I am worried about the hose popping one of the caps off while on the road so I have three questions;
1. Are the magnets truly strong enough to keep the Camco cap on?
2. It looks like Camco only addressed one side (Driver’s side) of the bumper is there a product that will address the passenger side end cap from popping off?
3. Does the Camco magnetic cap require any extra space in the bumper tube, like I mentioned, I really had to cram the hose into the bumper tube.

Thanks Jared. I have that very same model hose you tested and am very happy with it. It's good to see it holds up to their claims.
