Here I am, discussing what brands I like to use and what equipment and clean up procedure I follow. I feel everyone should try oil painting, at least once in their life, wether it be with a group of friends and a glass of wine, or just at home with a cup of tea.
Here is my #oilpainting story, I hope you enjoy.

Had to stop the vid for a moment to look up how to get that cleaner. Looks like something I need! I started my art journey oil painting back in the 60's (yes I AM giving away my age - I'll be 60 in the Fall) when my Dad taught me to paint with his oils. I love it - the way you can work it until you're happy with the result; something I find more difficult with watercolours. You are inspiring me to get back to the oils now that I'm retired. I have a bunch of tubes in my drawers - I think it's time to see what's still good to use and pull out some canvas again. Now back to your video - thanks Lori!

Oh man, oils do intimidate me a lot! But if I do decide to try it, I’ll come back to this. The biggest thing holding me back from most paints is the fact that I don’t have an art space other than a desk in my living room. But you work with what you have. Hopefully one day I’ll have a room of my own for art! Thanks for this information! Awesome!

I'm glad you did this, good video. I use led free and baby oil to clean up👍🏻I use Windsor Newton oils not expensive in UK. I use Windsor Newton in acrylics and Atelier interactive 👍😊💙

I don't know... I`m still on the fence about oil paints. I did learn about using different gesso finishes (acrylic vs oil ). Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!!!

Oohh so you’ve been using these paints since you were a baby

—This is so informative! Definitely made me excited to try it out now instead of being terrified by it! So helpful and funny as well. Honestly I would love more videos where I can see you cause you’re just so lovely and adorable and pretty and captivating! Lmao I’m such a fan girl of you seriously. 💖💖💖

This is fantastic, well done! Bloody good. I used Windsor and Newton student colours forever. I never could afford artists quality. I use Monte Marte now, purely for financial reasons, and l love that it’s an Australian brand. I think I’ll go onto Art Spectrum.
I must admit...I love the smell of a new, acrylic primed canvas, I’m a tart for it.😂 Do you do a lot of glazes, sis? I use Liquin. It’s fantastic and a medium flow product, thicker than linseed oil but not as weird as wax. Im a serial paintbrush killer. I’d clean up with soap, but so often, I leave it to fossilise😬
Another surface is masonite, which one of my friends used exclusively. I couldn’t though, it was too smooth for me.
PS...sent your parcel Express Post today. I am dying for you to get it. I can’t wait to hear it’s there!🤗

this was great! I just find I end up with more oil paint on me than on the canvas I touch something and it migrates to all nearby surfaces! I painted with them years ago and i painted in one go most of it. Then in November in the Paletteful Pack got oils and I painted all in one go. Drove me crazy how messy they were. I am trying a new subscription box and of course their first box has oils so I need some ideas or help LOL. I have always worked in a painterly brushstroke way with oils so it is a little thicker on the canvas? do you think it would be better to try flat plus thin in many layers without the texture?? DO you let it dry between layers or do you paint a painting all the way through??
