I agree that right hand shouldn’t be taken literally. I believe it’s a fulfillment of OT scripture. Psalm 20:6 says God will save us with his right hand. So it makes sense the New Testament would say Jesus is on the right hand of God since it is through him we receive salvation.

I've heard this talked about in contrast to a person's left hand which culturally at the time would have been most commonly used to clean yourself after going to the bathroom. Not saying that any part of God is unclean, but the left hand symbolizes what you use to deal with anything that is unclean. Another example is the story of the goats and the sheep. It says the sheep will be on His right hand and the goats to his left. With his right hand He brings in his children and with his left He gets rid of the unclean.

This makes me think of something I learned many years ago regarding the position of power: There was a time in America's history wherein if photos were taken of people from various ethnic groups and if one of the people in the photo was white, the white person would be positioned in the middle or framed on the right side. In reality, that person would be physically standing to the left of everyone else, but in the photo, he would appear on the right. The thought was that the human eye falls first on the middle of the group of people, then to the right. I wonder if that tactic was borrowed from a literal interpretation the Scripture.🤔
