Optimistic Nihilism vs The Wisdom of Solomon

Показать описание
Some people today try to mash up nihilism with optimism, searching for happiness in the midst of meaninglessness. But Solomon already tried that in ancient times, and he learned that it doesn't work.

Discussion Questions: What do you know about Nietzsche and nihilism? Where did you learn about it? How much of it do you buy into? In your opinion, what is the meaning of life? How confident are you in your assessment? What's the problem with making personal happiness the meaning of life? How can that go wrong? Do you think it would be better or worse if everything was temporary? Defend your answer. Read Ecclesiastes 1. What was Solomon's worldview at the beginning of the book? Read Ecclesiastes 12. What was Solomon's worldview at the end of the book?

You're confusing optimistic nihilism with hedonism.

You're argument is ridiculous and completely misinterprets the meaning of optimistic nihilism without offering any real substance of counter argument.

Think of it not as living everyday as your last, because that's how you get hedonism like the other guy said. Think of it how Nietzsche put it to defeat hedonism. Live your life as if you had to relive it forever. Live a life you can be proud of.

Umm... "Decide your own meaning" does not equal "You are God." You lose the ground your argument stands on when you put words into the mouth of the person you are countering.

Again just because there are people that are nihilist does not mean that there anarchist. There is clear distinction between the two.

Nihilism is just the philosophical belief that there is no objective reasoning to society, or objective reason for existence. This position is actually very well supported by science as shown by this quote “Life is like a plant growing in between the cracks of two paved pieces of cement.” The paved pieces of cement are our universe, the plant is life. This basically means that the universe does not care about us, nor was it specifically constructed for us.

Secondly anarchism is the philosophical idea of a stateless society. However anarchism according to Democritus was supposed to be a non-lasting response to democracy. Therefore anarchism is supposed to give way to other forms of political philosophies.

Anarchism by its own state due to the fact there is a form of Darwinian intelligence is actually impossible to obtain. The reason is because somebody is going to take power and institute their own subjective morals over that of other people. Or anarchism would give way to other forms of democracy thus implying a form of state government.

You let your religion basically control your life. This is very much with a lot of philosophers were against. The idea is to liberate yourself from the shackles of theology and except Scientific Socratic philosophy.

Quick note to state “There is no way to achieve true happiness. We can only achieve things that can be closely related to true happiness. And the only way that could be done is when everything is partially emancipated.”

I can actually very well see how it’s optimistic. One knows that their Inevitable, but unfortunate death without any knowledge of a second life is as stated. So one utilizes their death to encourage development in their own life, and society. Thus one knows that in utilizing their own death they end up benefiting society thus intern benefits them selves.

How is this something that you cannot understand is being optimistic?

Then I could actually employed for you to read a set of specific books myself since you were trying to get people to read your own fantasy books.

One is the books written by Frederick Nietzsche.

Two is Anarchism a Theoretical Analysis.

Three is the sixth and seventh volumes of Plato‘s the Republic.

And four is the entire series of Harry Potter.

I kinda don’t understand what you’re saying. Nihilism in itself doesn’t necessarily coincide with secularism.

AkA do your research on five point Calvinism. Yes five point Calvinism is a nihilistic sect of Christianity.
