I've now run over 500 miles in my Altra Lone Peak 4.5 trail running shoes.

In this video I talk about the wear of the shoe after those 500 miles and whether I'm still a fan of Altra running shoes.

Altra running shoes boast a foot shaped toe box and zero drop.

There is also news about the Altra Lone Peak 5.

For a look at the Lone Peak 5 check out the Lets Run Moore website
They also have a great video taking a closer look at the Altra Lone Peak 5

I went on a multi day backpacking trip in utah and wore only these shoes! I absolutely love them!!! I didn’t even have to break them in!

I just retired my 4.5 and I got 1086 miles out of them! All rugged rocky Pacific Crest Trail running. Insane. I would like the 5 because they’re finally offering a wide, but I’m too cheap and can’t wait so I got another pair of 4.5 since they’re clearance priced now 👍

I'm not a runner but I learned about Altras from long-distance hiker/YouTuber "Dixie" Mills. I opted for the Olympus as it has the most cushioning. I've had plantar fasciitis and also have a Morton's neuroma so the Altras have helped greatly, allowing my toes to spread more naturally. So I'm an Altra fan too. That sure is a pretty area you're in. Your video was very well done. 🙂

Thank you for your complete review after 500 miles. I like also so much the 4.0 model that I wish to try the 4.5 quickly after watching your test...

I got my lone peak 5 Friday and have been wearing them since. I'm definitely a fan. Mid sole seems really nice and responsive. The upper is very light and roomy feeling. It does feel a bit different than the 4.5 but I feel like it's a positive iteration. I would absolutely buy them again.

I’m based in HK and just bought a pair of LP them up in a day or two). Thought the lugs on the Timp 2.0 weren’t great so looking forward to testing the LPs on some technical terrain

Thank you for your review! I'm interested to see how the EGO midsole on the 5's hold up, I've ran in the first edition of the Escalante's with EGO and loved that midsole! Have the Lone Peak 4's and they were one of my favorite trail shoes until midsole flattened out after about 200 miles, no energy return and legs felt very tired after runs. Currently using the Superior 4.5's and pleasantly surprised, I've got high hopes for Lone Peak 5's though!

Thanks for the review! I was also wondering if you have any comparison with TIMP 2.0.

I'm so excited for the Ego midsole to come to the Lone Peak. Love it in the Escalantes! By the way, I'm over in Colorado in the US. Let me know if you need someone to ship you a pair early ;)

Do you think, they be any good for a ultra say a 50 miler that has quite a bit of ascent, and some road sections, I mean the toe box is well wide, or woupd you opt for more cushioning in a shoe

Do you think the superior 5.0 when it comes out will have ego? I hope so. I want to convert my trail shoes to Altra.
