You can use Letterboxd as a diary to record and share your opinion about films as you watch them, or just to keep track of films you’ve seen in the past. You can also rate and review movies too.

I love Letterboxd! I'm especially a fan of the list feature and I've made 56 lists to date. And I also try to post a review of every movie I see, I mostly just added movies to the "Watched" section in the early days of my membership but in recent years I've made sure to posts reviews everytime I have seen a movie as well.

I just found this Website and I am happy!!! I always wanted a complete list of all the movies I've ever watched. I wanted a number. Also I've been making lists (like genre lists) in notebooks by hand for years. Now it's finally all in one place!

Does it recommend movies based on one’s likes?

The ONE feature that I want, what I really came for is a tool that gives you 20-30+ movies for you to rate then starts making suggestions based on your ratings. Seems pretty poor that you have to start from scratch when a well curated list of popular movies could narrow down your interests right away

There is something really missing about this site and I can't put my finger on it. I just wish that there was more options for real world interaction and not just cataloging things. I recently deactivated all my social media except for my FetLife and YouTube because at least with FetLife there is more pressure to meet in person. I just find that Letterboxd would be better if it would put you in contact with more local films and theaters.

My issue with letterboxd right now is the movies don't go to watched unless I write a review which is weird and idk why it does that

Why are there sometimes less movies in the diary than actual movies (in your profile?) And also, I started this year on january first and have watched 122 movies so far this year, but it says 124 Films and 126 in the diary???

I'm a very frustrated new user as I'm doing exactly what you say and I just keep getting an error message. I really hope that this is not the only app out there for stuff like this as this app does not appear to be user friendly at all.

It's a great platform. I have not found out yet, though, how to share a review to Instagram stories... including the link to my review. Do I need to manipulate my way around it somehow ?
