In light of recent weather events, not having a bug out bag is not smart at all, regardless of where you live.

One more thing to add to the bug out bag: a small solar/hand crank radio; an inexpensive way to keep up with weather and news during an unexpected power outage. When in the midst of a crisis, information is king.

ok so you have the home supplies, then we have a bug out kit? backpack? how many different bugout kits do we have?

I am Crippled and can no long to physically Bug Out. Since my Family will not leave me so they will not Bug Out either. We are well supplied with all we need to defend ourselves and to live for at least six to eight months. If we conserve we could stretch this to 10 to 12 months. We are all retired Military (Jungle Survival Trained) and/or Police (Swat Trained) except for my Nieces, Grandnieces and Grandnephews. I do think we have a good chance.
