I can relate to this soo much. I’ve been meditating almost every day for the past 6 years (the same length of time that I’ve experienced chronic fatigue - which eventually developed into M.E./CFS 2.5 years ago after struggling at university), and although I often experience benefits straight after meditation, it’s never been enough to reduce my overall stress levels and for me to notice the benefits trickle through in my every day life, and I have always felt this has much to do with the environment I’ve been in not being right for me. I’ve always felt chronically stressed living in the UK, even through my school years and also experienced mild health symptoms back then, but this feeling has been the norm for me. It’s not until I’ve experienced being abroad for long periods of time (the US, Chile, Germany) that I’ve experienced being a healthy and relaxed person. I’ve never been able to explain why this is and so have tried to force a fulfilling life in the UK, by going out and meeting people, dabbling in all sorts of activities at Uni, getting out in nature, practising spirituality, healthy eating exercise etc etc, but I’ve always been so stressed when doing these things, so I’ve experienced so much thinking along the lines of: what’s wrong with me? Why can’t I have healthy relationships, or enjoy my course at university, or ever relax? But I understand my experience and struggles have been a result of an overly stimulated nervous system which those around me haven’t been able to understand and I tend to put up a wall pretending that everything is fine. Ive tried tirelessly to relax my nervous system and improve my life through meditation and leading a “healthy lifestyle”. But I think removing myself from high-pressure environments has always been the key for me. Anyway this was a bit of an essay. Thank you so much for sharing yet another great recovery story Raelan! Your kindness and enthusiasm helps so many of us. And Sam thanks for sharing your story. I’m going to reach out to you! Blessings to all 🙏

Wow, our stories are similar, definitely resonates. That’s amazing your Mum took that step, my Mum did nothing and went to place of denial over mine. It took about 3 years b4 I was validated.

After watching this video some time ago I reached out to Sam, and I'm very glad I did! He's a great teacher and if you're sitting on the fence I suggest you contact him to have a chat. Having been through this himself, he deeply understands what he's talking about from both a theoretical and practical stand-point. Thanks Raelan for bringing Sam into my recovery journey!

I just wanted to comment here to say I recently completed Sam's 4 day Vedic meditation course after 18 months living with Long Covid. This course is 100% worth the time and money. I had been struggling with intense fatigue, joint pain and struggled to surrender to the situation to allow my body to heal. In just 10 days, I have been getting to sleep much easier and having deep sleep (around 9 hours a night!), I have experienced consecutive days of no pain and I feel much calmer about the situation. Sam is extremely kind, gentle and very knowledgable. He genuinely cares for your health and well-being and is invested in sharing this meditation to as many people as possible in the most accessible way as possible.
I had tried many types of meditation before and this is by far my favourite. Wishing you all well.

And forgot to say, excellent interview Sam, many key points and answers in his story, and another big one was the inherited “trauma” and stress response conditioning and nervous system patterning and homeostasis, which is handed down, and also starts in the womb and with our mothers state during pregnancy and after and then starts happening to the child throughout infancy and beyond! All the best to you Sam and well done, keep spreading your story!

Update: So I actually went a learned meditation with Sam at Soma Meditation and it was brilliant! Feeling good and optimistic and for once, I feel that I will eventually overcome anxious living with the Vedic method.

Really loved this. Thank you Raelan! Sam's story speaks to me. I also was on a carrot only diet for a few months when I stopped digesting food, and I am an empath. Switching off the world has been the only thing that has helped me calm down. I am meditating daily and feel the benefits, but I am struggling to get a robust nervous system still. I have been happily and humbly reminded that I am a beginner at meditation and over the years I hope to see the 'light expand'. I cant wait for Part II!! Much love to both of you.

I have developed a huge fear about my son getting this illness. Every time he’s tired or has a sore legs I go into panic. I’d love a interview with a mother who’s recovered and how she manages that fear.

I'm absolutely loving this. It's almost exactly the same as me! I think it's very common. Well done Sam on getting there and thanks Raelan for putting this together. Dan x

Thanks very much for this video. I have been mediating for a couple of months and mindfulness breathing. I find I’m letting go and my nervous system is calming down. I am recovering and are able to do more activities. I am also working on changing my mindset which has had huge benefits. I would encourage anyone to start on this journey. 💗

Thanks for this Video. I want to endorse Sam and his meditation course here without any self interest. Just want to share that I had learnt meditation myself a few times (different variants) but it's something completely different when you take Sam's course. I even went to one of his retreats in Portugal and it has helped my health a lot. Sam is an honest and knowledgable guy and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher in meditation. Thanks Raelan for your videos and for making me find his course.

Thank you so much Sam for sharing your story, it resonates so very much with me being a highly "sensitive" person and highly empathic and it's the thing that I'm gradually figuring out is needing most attention for me to get better. It especially resonated with me when you said you had flown to Miami to find out more about he Methylation Cycle, as this is the sort of thing I get caught up in too, and yet I need to look in the other direction for the answers as the body can take care of that when in the right state. I have just done Dan Neuffers course on brain retraining, but haven't yet hit the nail on the head. Raelan's channel has been super helpful. Any more hints on dealing with the empathy and setting boundaries would be helpful, as it's only recently I've realised I'm picking up on all that extra stimulus and taking it on board as my problem and reality. I also see that not everyone commenting here really listened to your story, which is frustrating, but you handled that well ;)
