I preordered and got mine, upon receiving it and seeing some of the first YouTube reviews I started to have buyers regret. At the time of receiving mine I wasn't really able to work with it because I was busy working full-time filming a TV show with C300MK3s and I was tied up for a few months on that. I did take it out here and there to test it out but with work and family stuff it was very minimal. Fast forward a few months later after buying it and getting to work with on a bunch of big shoots and some doc follows for the UFC, I fell in love. It has easily been my favorite camera to work with. I do a lot of doc work and I honestly feel the best camera is the FX6, it's the best run and gun camera hands down mainly because of size, low light performance and workability with pretty decent image quality. The Burano is like a giant FX6 with noticeably better image quality. It's the first Sony Camera that starts to really look like an ARRI right out of the box. By this I mean just pulling it up in post without much work it looks really good. I work good results out of other Sony Cameras like the FX9, FX6 and even Canon cameras, but you have to push them a little to get it to look like an Arri. The Burano on the other hand you just color space transform it and it looks amazing, the shadow detail and highlight roll off. In fact I think it with a base color space transform it looks better than the base Alexa and Amira and honestly I'm not a big fan of the Alexa 35. But the with Alexa you can dial in a look really good to make it shine and look amazing. Also the few complaints like Rolling Shutter and even IR pollution have been either none issues or unnoticeable in all my shoots, and I shoot a lot of sports. Rolling shutter can be cut back if needed by shooting in S35, and IR pollution I haven't really seen. Having worked so much with it recently my only to gripes are, even though its supposed a small package it can get heavy. Heavier than a rigged out FX9 which I upgraded from. Also with the absence of white balance and iso dip switches, it does hinder run and gun a little bit. You have to do it all through the monitor. It's the difference between making an adjustment in a couple seconds with dip switches vs taking about 10-20 seconds doing it on the monitor.

What's important about people who talk bad about the Burano, is they don't truly use it like those who use it and understand it. Youtuber's will have you missing out on awesome cameras.

Great video. I'm using this camera in our Surf videos. Quick question: The SmallHD monitor has software for Burano/Venice on it? And can use touch focus?

I don't see the Sony external monitor.

I'm willing to be that, despite its high price tag, those using it for commercial work are more than happy. Indeed they may well have paid its cost off and are now in profit. Nice promo piece :)
