Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A 1964 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Guitar with the original Filtertron Pickups. It comes in the shown Original Gretsch Hardshell Case! This is a Professionally owned and played guitar in Gretsch Walnut that looks and plays great!! Just like the one George Harrison played only 2 years newer!!

Everything works as it should. All I did was clean it up, added new 11 guage strings and adjust the floating bridge to intonate it. Then I proceeded to enjoy playing this guitar for about an hour!! It sounds and plays great. Low action that has some room left to lower it a little, it doesn't need it, and plenty of room to raise it for your playing preference.

The guitar has had some work done…It had a full neck reset and it plays now with awesome low fast action. …It has some wear on the back of the neck .. The binding was stabilized Professionally. They do something that prevents it from coming off the guitar. As you probably know, the Gretsch bindings are famous for cracking and coming off. This one should be stable for a long time. The bindings do look super cool with the crazing in them. Check those pics! Love the faded Walnut color of this guitar.

The Gretsch branded Bigsby is great. I don’t know what they did from the original Bigsby’s but this one is super sensitive and it not only detunes but you are able to pull it up for raising the tones as well. I am not used to that feature!

The controls all work as they should. It has two volume pots as well as the master volume. A three way pickup selector switch and a tone switch. No tone pots on these guitars. The other three way switch by the volumes controls is a kill switch that shuts off the electronics in either the down or up position. In the middle it activates the electronics. The string mutes work but are not adjusted to fully mute the strings. I'll let the new owner deal with those...

The Pickps sound amazing. Love these Filtertrons. Best Gretsch Pickups in my opionion. They are thick and full. The back bridge pickup is full of life for you Thumb Pickers out there. You will sound like Chet with this Pickup!

The original Pickguard is still with it and not cracked. So many of these originals are broke. I was happy to see this one is not. The original nut is still here as well as the original tuners that work great! Even the Padded Back pad is still with the guitar. All we did is take it off, clean it up on the underside a bit and made sure all the snaps are working properly. They are!!

The case is as nice as the guitar. Original branded Gretsch Gray Case. Only the back latch is missing its hanger. It can be replaced by the new owner. The other latches, hinges and original handle are still with it as well as the accessory box. Love having the original case with this cool vintage Gretsch!

This guitar is being sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. Rest assured though, I have been handpicking my customers guitars for over 20 years now and they have all loved the guitars I found for them. This cool Gretsch will not be an exception.

Thanks for checking out our cool Guitars and Gear!

hello mr lawman, well great video, I had a friendly, well not so freiendly argument with a fan who was in canada, he had this model, , 6122 from late 60s, not sure what year, it had the fat grover gears, the finish was the darker walnut stain, ,the one you have has the lighter stain, the 6122 with the mutes on knobs, for the top 3 strings and bottom 3 strings was changed a later in 60s, , , anyway my main point with this person was the color, george had two different models, the one with the mutes on knobs, and one with the toggle switch i wrote gretech, never got a reply, when I saw this at the music school in say 0ct, 64, someone was trying it out, i was less than two feet from it, IT WAS semi-gloss black, with grover imperial gears, the chet plate in the top, the mid 60s was BLACK& WHITE SO THE ARC LIGHTING FOR TV WAS LOW, SO I THINK IT CANCELES OUT THE BROWN COLOR AND THE GUITAR CAN APPEAR BLACK, I WAS TOLD BUY A GUITAR STORE SALES REP AT A GUITAR STORE IN CRYSTEL RIVER, FL, WHERE i AM, THAT THE GUITAR GEORGE USED WAS GIVEN TO HIM FOR THE SULLIVAN SHOW, SO THAT MEANS HE HAD 3, NOT SURE OF THIS, I STILL HAVE MY BEATLES MAGS, , AND SOME PHOTOS ARE COLOR BY AVAILABLE LIGHT SHOW THE DARK COLOR OF THE WALNUT, AND ONE HAS THE GUITAR UPSIDE DOWN, WTITH THE PAD FACEING UP, SINCE ITS BLACK, AND THE FLASH IS DAYLIGHT, IT LOOKS LIKE THE SEMI GLOSS BLACK, EVEN THOUGH IT COULD STILL BE THE DARK WALNUT ONE, I DURING THE REHURISEAL FOR THE SULLIVAN GEORGE WAS ILL WITH THE FLUE, SO NEIL ASPINAL STOOD IN FOR HIM AND THE PHOTO WAS BY AVAILABLE LIGHT, AND IT WAS THE WALNUT MODEL, THIS SO CALLED FAN WHO MISSED THE ERA, LIKE OTHERS WANT TO BECOME PART OF IT, SO THEY WANT TO BE A SPOKESMAN, I DO THE SAME WITH THE 50S, BUT I AM NICER ABOUT IT, , I NEVER DID SEE THE SEMI GLOSS BLACK AT MY MUSIC SCHOOL AFTER THAT, AND i NEVER ASKED ABOUT IT, THERE WAS A GRETECH SUPPLEMENT CATALOG, WHIC I SAW ON EBAY, AND I RECALLIT HAD THE 6122 IN BROWN, AND MY LATE 60S CATALOG HAD IT BROWN, WITH THE FAT GROVER GEARS, i DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE GRETECH IS, THEY WERE IN GEORGIA AS FARN AS NI KNOW, THE 6119, TENN, AND THE 6120 NASHVILLE WERE IN BLACK, AS A SPECIAL ORDER, BCAUSE i NEVER SAW THEM IN A STORE OR CATALOG, ON THE CHET LP, CALLED PICKS ON BEATLES, THAT 12 STRING 6122 IS IN SEMI -GLOSS BLACK, IN THE CATALOG I HAVE FROM 1968-9, ITS ONLY AVAILABLE IN NATURAL FINISH.THE BLACK COULD HAVE BEEN A SPECIAL ORDER, i HAVE SAID A LOT, WHATS YOUR VIEW ON THIS, THANKS, DAN DIORIO, BEVHILLS FL, ,
