Thank you so much for this video. I live in Alberta and was supposed to get my mirena iud replaced last month but of course, it was postponed until clinics opened up again.

Hi Dr. Dee I just wanna start off and say your videos are amazing and highly educational. I wanted to ask if you are familiar with the copper chain iud known as Gynefix (it's mostly used in Europe and im in Germany atm) I found it a bit hard to find a lot of information on it in English, I did have an appointment for a check up and my gynecologist assured me that I can have it inserted during my period, so I will have to call on Monday and schedule an appointment. I know the insertion is a little bit different than the other iuds and woud be grateful for your feedback on it in terms of what I can expect during this process if you are familiar with it (it's my very first method of birth control)

Thank you for your answers! Could you please tell us after a IDU insertion, for how many days is normal to feel abdominal discomfort/ cramps? No other side effect, just talking about the pain itself. I watched your video and you mentioned that it depends on the persons body. I just would like to have an idea to know when we should call a doctor or if it’s normal.
Thank you and I love your videos

Well my mirena fell out after 2 yrs due to I have fibroids but I asked to start the birth control pill. My question is about transition from the iud to back to birth control pill. How long is the hormones in the system? I received my birth control pill on Friday but I didn’t begin until that Sunday.

Hi Dr.Dee, thank you for your videos! They are so helpful. I wanted to ask, what is the typical time frame for periods stopping while on the Merina? Everything I read says within a year but can it happen later too?

Hi Dr. Dervaitis! I'm 18 and from California and I'm very interested in women's reproductive health so I have been considering taking the pre-med track in college. I think the information you present is fantastic and so hard to find online. Can you do a video outside of this series on why you chose to pursue gynecology and what the experience of being a gynecologist is like? I think it would be very interesting

Off-topic! I was wondering if having an IUD is a valid option for someone who does not want to take birth control pills for their PCOS? is the estrogen in the pills essential for someone who has PCOS? I want to explore all my options before resorting to birth control pills.

Hello. Could you please explain about increase of acne and the increase in the oil glands that the IUD can cause? I heard a lot of people talking about changes in their skins and hair as well after their IUD insertion. Thank you and I love your videos.

Hi Dr D, I felt the plastic of my copper iud last week, the next day I couldn't feel the plastic of the iud but I can still feel the strings, is this cause for concern?

Hi Dr. Dervaitis, in the event I have gone over my Mirenas time line (6-7yrs), does it now serve a concern in regards to health issues, infections, or the chances of trying to conceive in the future once it is finally removed? Thank you!

Hi doctor, I have been putting a copper t for 1 year. Yesterday it's thread broke and came out. When I check with a doctor she told me that take a scanning and if the copper t is in correct position, then I can leave it there even without the thread. Does it make any further complications like misplacement in future. Because I can't check it myself no more.

Hi Dr. Dervaitis! Thank you sooo much for all of your informative content!!! Might I ask you if someone with Endometrial Hyperplasia is eligible for an IUD? Might it help regulate the hormone levels? Thank you!!!

Thank you so much for this content Doc. I’m currently trying to weigh out the risks of going in to get my IUD checked. I’ve had my Mirena IUD for 3 years now. I haven’t noticed any significant changes and it’s been good to me. I’ve never had heavy periods btw. While my IUD has been in, I do get occasionally “spotting.” Sometimes red blood, most times brownish blood. Is this normal? My latest concern has been some brownish spotting and tissue (“clots”) when I wiped. Should this concern me? Don’t even want to consider a possible miscarriage.

I heard that if your iud was not properly positioned during the insertion, the body will adapt the iud itself within the first month. And even if the iud is not yet we’ll positioned, it’s still effective as a contraceptive. Is it true? Thank you!

Hi Dr. Dervaitis, thank you so much for your videos. They are very helpful..
May I ask if iud is eligible for someone who has had ectopic pregnancy once and then experienced a misplaced Cooper iud?
In general, dose iud put me in higher chance of having another ectopic pregnancy? And is there a difference between Cooper and hormonal iud regarding this topic?

Hi Dr. D, it sounds like IUDs are a little more complicated than Nexplanon. Just dealing with the management of the strings, risk for etopic pregnancies,
cramping, expulsion, etc. I know there are side effects for Nexplanon as well and understand that to each their own, but what is your take on Nexplanon versus an IUD?
