I do agree that it's important to recognize the pros and cons of any occupation once you're older, however I really dislike the notion of crushing kid's dreams like that. It might not even be a dream that lasts, but I still think it's important to support your kid/family's kids.

as a kid whenever this happen i just slowly and calmly walk away, sometime mid sentence, looking back that was really passive aggressive, but as a kid the logic was if i can't see you i can stop listening to you and you can keep going until you're finish everyone get what they want
