A force is a push or a pull that acts on an object.

Forces are vector quantities because they have both magnitude and direction, and so can be represented by an arrow. Scalar quantities have only magnitude and no direction.

When several forces act on an object they can be replaced by a single force that has the same effect. This single force is called the resultant force.

When drawing scale diagrams ...should the outcome always be a parallelogram?

For the parachute example, if the forces are equal why does the parachuter not stay stationary?

It says that in a circular motion when a force is applied perpendicular to the direction of the velocity, the object change direction without changing its speed. But when we draw its vector diagram showing a horizontal force to represent the force for the horizontal movement in the direction of the velocity followed by a perpendicular force to it, the resultant vector though changes direction, changes its magnitude which must means that the speed does not remain constant. Can someone please explain this to me😕😕😕
