Leana Wen says new CDC mask guidance is ‘unfortunate’ but honor code wasn’t working

The CDC is expected to recommend that vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors in certain circumstances. Leana Wen, MD, said news of the reversal is unfortunate, but explained the “honor code the CDC was relying on” did not work. Wen added that she would like to see a “blanket indoor mask mandate, with some exceptions.”

Right, but making policies on the science of (literally today) knowing that they will be changed tomorrow because the science will change tomorrow is not great… it’s like trying to make a decision when you know that you don’t have enough information, only for contradictory information to come in the next day.
