I knew most of the young American stars looked up to Kane and had assumed Matthews did as well, but the degree of respect and admiration he had for him I had not known, prior to this interview. I'd heard Zegras and JHughes and the Tkachuks and Clayton Keller talk this way about Kane.

I think I've heard more of this kind of talk about PK88 than about any other player of the last 25 years. He really is the most influential modern player imo.

Matts is so right about how the nhl needs to let players personalities and personal brands flourish in order to expand the game overall. imagine mcdavid's own branded skates, maybe something stylish like jordan's in the nba, or just skate deals in general with stars the way they do shoe deals with nba players.. market players brand deals better, like gretsky had his own sticks and what not but they weren't cool outside of hockey where as nba players brand deals are cool even outside the nba. i think matts being intouch with modern youth culture can help sell hockey branded items like sticks, skates, etc. let players personalize their styles on ice more too, say like allowing players and goalies to have personalized helmets. let the nhl step into the modern age while keeping its class from the old days. theres a huge divide between young and old, as always, but the youths into hockey today are helping push hockeys 'coolness' off the ice, time for the nhl to help push that narrative if theyre looking to expand.. we already see street clothes on the ODRs in the game, why not carry that over into official exhibitions i the nhl where players can wear what they wish while playing something col like irl 3s or eliminations .

Fix create a team! A lot of logos and jerseys can’t be highlighted and therefore you can’t change the colour of them and the red line at centre ice is no longer transparent like it was in nhl 21

He mentioned Sid and Ovi but people always forget how dominant malkin was and still is! 3rd most points per games among active players ranked 15th all time ! Even higher ppg than OVI ranked at 26th😨
