Probably the best Gundam movie ever for me. The way the Xi gundam just menacingly appears with no warning and flies out of the canister. The fear of this completely unknown Gundam along with the masterful music from Sawano. Perfection.

I honestly love how HUGE and ridiculously bulky the Penelope and Xi Gundams are. This is really the final era of machines this gigantic before the Earth Federation establishes SNRI to create tiny, compact mobile suits like the F91.

Something that i’ve always found interesting is the difference in sounds between the Xi and Penelope/Odysseus, the Penelope’s incomplete Minovsky flight unit makes a very bestial and aggressive sound whilst the finalized version on the Xi is more of a light whir.

Not only that but the glow it makes is different, the Penelope’s glow yellow-orange while the Xi’s are a neutral white

You know when you think about it, "don't follow" in Universal Century dogfight never really made sense until Ξ. Even in 0087 when SFSs became prevalent, you'd still want to chase after your foes because they have limited capability to counterattack. The new Gundam's unique ability to fly backwards on Earth allows it to fully engage its enemies without any restriction, and it's probably true that it is actually more advantageous when being chased. This "don't follow" line of dialogue is one of my favourites for being so minute yet clever and realistic at the same time.
