lol omg this is an awesome video. true noobs.
1. tries to fly in house
2.doesnt do all the calibrations before maiden flight
3.grabs armed quad
4.doesnt make sure the props are configured in the proper direction
5. immediately goes into FPV flight without checking the flight characteristics in line of sight mode
6.flys over peoples homes and public roads without knowing the craft/equipment well (range, reliability, etc.) and the quad just falls out the sky.

im only at 9:16 but still a great video a must watch for people getting into the hobby. learn from his mistakes so you dont have to repeat them. ESPECIALLY #6 if that thing would've fell from the sky and hit a moving vehicle causing it to swerve/crash with injuries it could spell disaster for the whole Hobby. they are looking for reasons to shut us down. fly safe, fly often

I can honestly say its the most frustrating hobby Ive ever had. Shit always goes wrong when you start and for every problem is a days worth of researching on forums and youtube. But I love it and the reward can be epic.

The most stupid thing in this hobby is impatience.

Welcome to the hobby. For anyone watching and wanting to dive right in, I would recommend not following what this guy did. I would highly recommend watching some videos from Rotor Riot or Joshua Bardwell. These guys are pros and have great advice for getting into the hobby.

6:46 "Transmitter battery low"

9:08 "The controller turned off! It almost hit me in the head!"

lol, note to everyone, when your transmitter is giving you a low battery warning, pry shouldnt go flying without charging it ;)

Damn, never mind the drone - storytelling, cinematography, music, everything is perfect here. We have exposition, rising action, first failures, first success, and then awesome resolution. Congratulations on the filmmaking skills!

Small heads up for all the future fpv pilots out there: Always use a multimeter to meassure for continuity and additionally a smoke stopper before pluggging in the first time (; Also never fly indoors unless you know what you are doing^^ This guy was so lucky to not loose a finger....

Also your quad might need some tuning. You can definitly get rid of those vibrations in your video :D

You know someone spends too much time indoors when sitting in a park in front of your house is being "out in the bush" lol

Every problem that pops up, every thing you have to go look for answers for, everything is worth it the moment you take that first epic flight! Nothing like it! Freedom like you have never experienced.
Instant love.

Blood, snow, GoPro and the drone. This is insanely emotional mixture. Congrats for learning new skills!

6:49 is seriously my most favorite part of the entire video lol that was so cute. Like a lil Pokémon

The sniff test is super important. Electronics are powered by "magic smoke" because once the "magic smoke" comes out it stops working 🤓🤣

I haven’t seen any comments about this yet, but this editing is incredible. Actually blowing my mind the effort put in to some of these transitions. The drone shots of the car in the snowy woods is such a minute detail and almost irrelevant to the entire video but adds such a dynamic vision of the area youre traversing and I really appreciate the time and effort put in to the minor details that most people don’t notice. Well fucking done.

I just want to say, I watched this vid near 2 months ago. I bought drone parts on January 5th (not the parts you mentioned in the description.) I received the parts about a week ago. I struggled a lot for a week to build my drone because of my 0 experience on how to and where to solder the wires. After figuring the wiring I came across another struggle, how to setup Betaflight and configure my drone. As you can expect I figured everything out except the one last problem you had with your drone. My drone mimicked the way your drone hopped on thrust and stopped. Luckily, I remembered your video and saw what you did to fix it. So, what I am saying is, thank you so much for including the part where you fixed your drone because it definitely fixed mine.

"If my calculations are correct" is a weird way to say "if I followed the instructions correctly" 😂

can we all agree that this is the equivalent of the verge pc build but for fpv

I'm pretty impressed on how quickly you progressed. I've been flying FPV for about 2 years now. Best hobby ever.
