An excellent song and special memories for me. Back in 1978/9 stuck on the ground at Athens airport on a Britannia Airways due to heavy snow in Gatwick, finally we took off at exactly midnight (Greek time) on the 1st January 1979 and as soon as we were airborne everybody started singing this song. "We are flying..." - Amazing atmosphere, something will always remember.

Remember this song from a
tv show in England about the Ark Royal. My sister loved it as her boy friend at the time was serving on that aircraft carrier.
They married later. sadly she passed away 2 years ago. great song.
