I'm English just one thing.... its pronounced spit 'n' image. However since the popular UK TV programme from the 1980's it now ok to say spitting image. As English has always been a developing language so meanings of words and sayings change. According to your logic "he's gay" means he's bright happy and full of fun. Oh and never say " he's Randy he's full of spunk" in the UK it up
