I can attest to the fact that growing up in America and serving in the military as a Middle Eastern/Muslim guy; the BEST way to truly foster understanding is being able to laugh and make fun of yourself and embrace the absurdity of certain stereotypes - especially in the military, it is what endears people to one another.. And it’s why I have friends from ALL backgrounds.

The modern age of virtue signaling, being “offended” on behalf of others, and shutting people up for “wrong think” and jokes, has ended up only pushing people into their respective corners.

I’ve never seen someone overcome a bias because they were told they’re an awful person.
