Vivienne Westwood may have one of the craziest stories in all of fashion. How is it possible that a former elementary school teacher became the Queen of Punk? Well that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at in this video - starting back in her days running a boutique with Malcolm Mclaren, all the way to present day. You might even be surprised to learn that she’s left her mark on several pop culture fixtures like the game Final Fantasy, and that she played a major role in Pharrell Williams’ viral Grammy appearance back in 2014. As a dressmaker/ designer myself, VW is truly brilliant at cut and concept. She’s far more than just a rock/ punk niche boutiquer, the work is truly original. Clothes are hard, they’re kinetic sculptures that have to fit a body. It’s a rare talent that can cut and she can!
