I'm an older woman. I've worked my entire life, mostly in middle to large corporations. When I applied for a bank loan to buy my first car, I was told that I was a single woman and therefore a security risk. When I married, I was not allowed to be on the property title deed although I earned more money than my husband. I faced the glass ceiling most of my life, as did my female colleagues. I've worked for more than one male bully boss. Older women have these marked memories that have shaped their life-long perceptions. They remember the misogyny of their very long lives. No wonder older women are breaking for Kamala Harris. They see in her the opportunity for their children and grandchildren, and this applies to more than bodily autonomy. This election is fascinating. With the contrast between Harris and Trump being so stark, that the American population is as divided as it is is mind-blowing.

The fact I, as a British person, am so concerned about this election really shows just how much of an existential threat this man is. Not just to the US but to democracy and politics throughout the world. Not to mention how much embarrassment he's causing your country on the world stage.
