Honey Garlic Sauce 🍯🧄

I created this honey garlic sauce recipe 7 years ago when I first started cooking, and it’s still my favorite homemade sauce today! I’ve made a few changes to it over the years, and it’s become better with time. It’s quick and easy to make, and I love the balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. Feel free to use it with chicken, tofu, vegetables, and whatever else you can imagine. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
-1/3 cup honey
-1/4 cup rice vinegar
-2 tbs brown sugar
-2 tbs freshly minced garlic
-1 tbs cornstarch
-1 tbs sesame seeds
-1 tbs sesame oil
-1/2 tsp black pepper
-1/2 tsp red chili flakes
Instructions:
-add all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well
-set a small sauce pan on low heat
-immediately add the sauce into the pan
-allow it to come to a low simmer and give it a mix every few minutes; keep a close eye on it to ensure it does not boil over
-once it begins to simmer, keep mixing until the sauce thickens and can coat the back of a spoon without running off
-turn off the heat, remove the pan from the stovetop, and allow it to cool for 10 minutes
-pour the sauce into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
-enjoy!
