4 minutes watching this video has fixed my hook. I've only been doing it for nearly 40 years! Thank you.

Super useful. I have looked at my club face several times and it'd always a bit closed, this video has just confirmed for me that's what's causing my hooks.

Thanks, I've been having trouble with my hook for about a month now, and that take away is exactly what I am doing, I'll work on keep the toe up at parallel, half way.

Hi Chris, if you want to play a draw then yes inside to out but if you want to hit it "about" straight then the club should swing "in to square to in". The more the club swings "out" on the way through, the more the ball will tend to hook. Hope that helps.

Hi Austin, if you hook the golf ball. The number 1 thing you need to check is the club face. The face is closed to the path at impact so generally it probably wont be the follow through.

Great Brett, glad we helped. Stay interacted with us on FB and Twitter. Let us know if we can help in any way.

Andy, you've given me something that hopefully will help. In my case, I do take it back a bit shut. But I was always under the impression from teachers that you aren't suppose to fan the face open going back. But since I'm so sick of hitting it left, I can't see any harm in trying this tip. Perhaps since most teachers are dealing with slicers, of course fanning the face open is the last thing they want them doing. Thanks for your efforts to help people struggling....the game is suppose to be fun, after all.

Been hooking a while now and it's when I rush the back swing because the club face is remaining slightly closed as per instruction, great drill, am enjoying golf again, can hit straight or change alignment and get a nice reliable draw to, to think I started 20 years ago with a uncontrollable slice haha

Before watching, I know that hooks are more pronounced with an inside out swing, and I have learned to control that by shortening the club a bit by choking up, as a club that is too long tends to get blocked out by the body if the tempo is just a tiny bit too fast. As for losing distance from choking up, you actually make up for it with solid contact and straight ball flight.

My club face after impact is closed excessively. I've been fighting this with 5, 6, and 7 iron, but not 9 - wedges. Is there a reason for this?

Never thought about the club face while doing the backswing (I'm doing the exact movement you were showing)....will definitely try that tomorrow! Bye

Should you be swinging from inside to the outside or straight down on the golf ball?

Yeah I tried opening the club face at set up and opening it again on the backswing and it was working pretty well but then over time it started hooking again.

Thankyou I'm a highschool golfer in 10th grade and I shoot around an 80 for 18 but I tend to hook the ball a lot i don't know if it the fill low through or what.

i thought the club face should ideally be parallel to your spine angle ?
