In this tutorial video im explain How to replace thermal Pads and Paste on every GPU AMD or Nvidia we provide a concise and easy-to-follow guide, in this example its RX 590 8 GB AMD Sapphire. Over time, these components , Paste and pads will dry, so they can degrade, resulting is increased temperatures and decreased performance you may face pc to goo backscreen or your pc restarted or flickering on the screen.

Chapters:
0:00 Intro
0:30 showing thermal paste mx-4 Arctic and pads-Extreme Gelid
0:50 Digital Caliper to measure pads thickness
1:20 showing iFixit tool that i use to open up the gpu
1:39 Remove 2 fans and front cover gpu rx590
2:46 Remove GPU Radiator (Thermal its dry)
3:00 Explain where pads are
3:30 Measure the pad thickness with digital caliper
4:07 Replacing the thermal pads one by one
4:42 Put the radiator back to gpu
5:10 Put back thermal pads and close the back cover
6:00 Done

Graphic card cooling system its the first part that you have to check and see because if it doesn't work very well when dusty between cooler and radiator than cooling system its out of function.

im my case my gpu its RX 590 8 GB , it will work also the same for RX 580 etc. this method its universal you can apply in every gpus

Tools that I used on Amazon:
---------------
ARCTIC MX-4 - Premium Performance Thermal Paste (CPU, GPU - PC, PS4, Xbox)
Gelid Solutions GP-Ultimate 90x50x0.5mm Thermal Pad
iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit

👉 RX590 & RX580
-------------------------
👉 If you Face Flickering make sure to use this power connectors:
-----
1. Dual 6 Pin Female to 8 Pin Male, GPU Power Adapter Cable

2. SATA Power to 6 Pin PCI Express Video Card Power Cable Adapter
Or
Molex to 6 Pin Video Card GPU Power Supply

9 seconds: nvidia rx...
Edit: about the LED connector, it's very difficult to remove without to damage it, happened to me too! It's very fragile and the mounting position is not the ideal! Thanks for the video! Good job!

You should try phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer, performs works better than traditional pastes and there is no pump-out effect. On the power section (vrm) and vrams I advice to give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro.
It is also a good idea to do undervolting.

So i can clean fans without having to mess up with pads and paste ?

If you use thermal paste instead, it will work?

The thermal paste needed was half as much. It is enough to apply only to the crystal itself, before applying, treat the surfaces with alcohol 😉

Touching the die with screedriver, damaging the conector 😂 good fix

I have the same GPU and I am having problems with it, my monitor keeps on flickering on and off, I have the latest driver for the gpu but the flickering doesn’t stop. Flickering is too frequent that I barely see my desktop. Will this help?

Ah, Nvidia makes Polaris GPUs now? :)
Did you also hear about this new Intel Zen-9 7950X-K? Its a beast.

All depends on how old your card is. Think my oooold R9 200 is just paste on the heatsink no pads. Will find out later when I pop it open later.

So as I saw here, its unnecessarily to unscrew the fan part 🤔

I'm sure it works well with that broken wire.

Please don't follow this guy, you don't replace 0, 5 with 0, 5 - it might get squished overtime. Paste on heatsink - you trap air bubbles inside. Ruffing around with spatula... This is just plain wrong, from start to the end.
No hate, but seriously :D
