It’s rather odd that no one questions a doctor for wearing a mask during a surgical procedure to prevent infection of a patient, to protect the patient and themselves, and they blindly follow those that say masks don’t work. People will die for the politics of the matter when the politics was intended to save lives. How ironic

Massively helpful. Physical distancing and hand sanitization. They work.

We have got to be the last country on Earth still arguing about masks.

Edit: these comments are depressing. Looks like it’s one guy with multiple accounts talking to himself.

“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And often, there are unintended consequences. People keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.”  - Dr. Fauci, 3/8/20

Mask-wearing and social distancing has kept me from getting it so far, that's all the evidence I need.

And trying to limit you and your families exposure to risky situations! Common sense for the common good and with common decency.

Looking forward toward curtailing and defeating this twenty first century plague by listening to and taking advice from learned experts in the field of epidemiology, and finally shedding the detrimental blatherings of ignorance and self centered egomania.

I'm all for masks and see the majority of people wearing them. Why is it still spiking?

Trump was insanely talking about firing Fauci while the American people were busy firing Trump.

Normal oxygen concentration is close to 20.5%.  OSHA regulations forbid sending workers into a space with less than 19.5% oxygen.  When I was wearing these monitors, we were trained never to enter an area with less than 19.5% oxygen with  without special training, written procedures, breathing apparatus that supplies air or oxygen, and a team outside with another equipped person to monitor.

I was taking out a sandwich from a deli in Tampa when 5 chowder headed college students walk in, ALL without masks. Since my order wasn't ready I headed for the door. (I have asthma and I'm older than most) So after a couple of minutes I'm back inside to check my order and they know by the looks (eyes) on other people they are getting under other people's skin. Finally, I just asked "are you guys going home for Thanksgiving?" All five affirm that they are. So I asked are going to be eating with your family? Again they affirm so I asked anyone in your family over weight? Have COPD? Any relatives have asthma? Congestive heart failure? It's November 9th (yesterday) so if you come down with Covid-19 you will be shedding virus just in time for Thanksgiving Dinner! The good news is you will be fine but if any of your relatives have medical problems you are not aware of, well you will have some empty seats at the table for Christmas! Be smart and stay safe!

These common masks / facial covers have always provided _some_ protection to the wearer too. The question has been "how much", which has required very large, longer term data sets to provide reliable statistics, because of their wide variety in material, construction, fit and use.

I worry about what else we will have to use or accept after using the masks. But if you're using it even under the shower, I'm afraid of you.
