The $300 BILLION Race To Replace The Suez Canal

The Suez Canal, a marvel of engineering and one of the most critical trade arteries in the world, has long served as the linchpin of global maritime commerce. Connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, the canal provides a direct route between Europe and Asia, eliminating the need for ships to navigate around the southern tip of Africa. Despite its historical and economic significance, the Suez Canal has become a focal point of concern for global trade due to vulnerabilities such as congestion, environmental risks, and geopolitical tensions. This has spurred a global race, with nations and corporations investing billions of dollars into projects that aim to replace or supplement the Suez Canal. From futuristic canals slicing through deserts to railways threading continents, and even Arctic routes emerging from melting ice, nations and corporations are vying to rewrite the map of global trade.

This video is dumb in it thinks the Istanbul canal will compete with the Suez Canal.

The canal in Turkey isn't at all, in any way, a competitor for Suez.

As if stability in the Middle East and Turkey is likely to be enduring enough to warrant such investments.

It would be cheaper, quicker & better for countries of Europe to get back to producing & manufacturing more of the things they need in thier own countries.

None of the Suez Canal "competitors" has been started... and will probably not ever be!

The Turkish canal won't do anything to replace Suez. And while the Israeli canal would handle the largest ships, but that means bigger ships will be built.

As a student of ancient history and archaeology, thumbs down on the Ben Gurion canal. I might add that it is in an earthquake zone and additional seepage of ground water has been known to lubricate faults and increase quakes.

Don't you think that israel IS the main reason for the instability of the Middle East? Much more than Egypt. I wish you would be more honest in your videos and think wisely before speaking
