Seems like there’s a lot of confusion in the comments, but in the first clip the climber did NOT hit her face on the volume, it was a ‘close call’ and she was completely fine

Commentator: "She's good at resting"
Me: "You know, I'm something of a climber myself"

I feel like there is a missed opportunity for the late 80s and early 90s to make a drama style movie out of competitive rock climbing. Complete with rivals, heartbreak and intense slow motion muscle shots with an added bonus of feathered mullets.

Commentor: as you can see, we put some support bolts near her so that she can step on them to make the rout easier.
The bolts: *a slight bump in the wall*

She reached to chalk her hands, no chalk bag. She even shook her hand off. This lady chalked her hands on pure will despite literally having no chalk.

I saw that last clip live. The commentators didn't even notice the chalk bag fall and it annoyed me so much that they weren't blown away like I was at what she was doing

It's a well known fact that regular physics doesn't apply anymore during climbing competitions

I must say, I really appreciate the empathy these commentators show, it makes me feel more invested in the climbers struggle and also explain the technical part of the activity.

climbers are literally super human, like I cannot fathom how some of these people do this

What am I doing here? YouTube wants me to pick new hobbies or what? First lock picking and now rock climbing? I'll be another person at the end of this quarantine. A burglar!

Can we all just take a moment to be in awe of Mia Krampl topping that climb with an injured knee? That's some serious badassery right there.

Damn, im a novice climber, only level 2 nicas, and i actually cannot fathom how these climbers are doing this. This is, INSANE. I have so much respect for advanced climbers, they fight through hundreds of injuries, grab onto ingraspable things and generally give the middle finger to physics. I want to be this good someday

I watched almost all of those live and when Mia Krampl topped that red boulder with an injured knee I was crying, it was brutal and heroic how she fought through the pain. And the last one Janja the only top without her chalkbag

Strength, flexibility, stamina, agility, accuracy, power and decision making all in one, it’s like a very hard mental puzzle mixed with a extremely athletic sport, so much respect for these climbers

Cool moments: "Well, the producer broke this chair and he didn't tell me so I've been sitting on a half-broken chair"
