You are mesmerizing to watch, the whispering is a great part of it. Thank you so much! I’ve had some of the techniques I’ve figured out on my own affirmed and learned so much more. Thank you, thank you for being so thorough with your fabulous, quiet narration.

Nice video Spencer… and yes your right the two guys from painting and decorating channel here in the UK are probably the most thorough and best YouTube channel that the UK has to offer. I’ve watched them for many years now. Always like to see how others do it and how it’s done across the pond as it were! If only we could all do a joint project! Take care mate! Marc. 🇬🇧

Hello Spencer,

Your videos are the best. I always learn so much and do my best to follow your order of operation and tips. Thank you for the quality content.

If you had 60 seconds for some advice…

I’m painting some older bifold doors. Some are flat panel and some are open louvers. All are the victim of a previous bad paint job. There’s so much roping it’s as if they were painted with a straw broom. And it’s glossy paint too. So sad because the doors are in good condition otherwise.

I’ve taken them off the hinges and used a finishing sander w/ medium grit sand paper to knock the roping down as much as possible. I also have a dremel sander for the tighter spots which may proove helpful on the louvers. Or I may just hand sand.

Is sanding down the roping a good idea? Is it worth the time and effort to replicate the process across all the doors? I have done one and have seven more pairs to go.

I’m planning to spray the doors w sherwin Williams Pro classic smooth enamel for trim and doors cut w some M1. Although I admit this will be my first time using a sprayer. So there’s that.

Any advice on getting the best possible results (and not making things worse) is welcome. This is my home and I’m doing my best to do my best.

Thank you and plz keep the quality content coming.

That's how I do it. Especially when it's a panel door. I always tell my guys work inside out. Panels first both sides by the time you finish the last side the first side is dry then use your fine roller and done. Looks great almost like sprayed

When it comes to white trim paint like the one you used on the French doors, what brand do you feel it’s best. I’ve used different colors Behr paints but when it comes to their white paint, it seems like it does not give you the smooth finish you expect. Great job with the French doors!!

Great video. Trying to apply your skill set to 16 linear ft baseboards that came primed and ready to paint. Laid out on 4 tables, I'm undertaking one at a time. Hate brush strokes. So do I apply two coats with brush sanding between coats? Or just sand 2nd coat before using roller? Here's the challenge. They're 16 ft long. How do I get seamless application that length? I'm adding M-1 to paint. Paint is drying fast. Can't get from one end to the other using one long stroke with roller. Suggestions and helpful hints PLEASE.

Yeah we always take pictures of other's people's boo boos. Nothing worse than a old person noticing splatters when your trying to get paid. That or if they are home kindly show them all spots before you start. I cant count how many times this has happened 😕
