The rise in interest rate should only apply to new purchases. That's how you stop people from spending. Raising the interest rates on things people have already bought is doing nothing but hurting people that were already on a tight budget by making the budget even tighter. Applying the higher interest rates to new purchase would stop people from buying new things or getting information without crushing people who were in a contract before these last few interest hikes. Why can we not do that?
