Riding Idaho's DEADLIEST Motorcycle Trail | Part 1

Single track trails in the state of Idaho are well known to be rugged and challenging, but this trail leaves very little room for ANY mistakes.

In this video, I'll be traversing one of the deadliest single track trails in the whole state. At points this trail is suspended on the edge of a 100 foot cliff, leaving no room to make a single mistake..

In part one, I'll be riding downstream and part two I'll be riding up stream.

There's only one way in, and one way out, and I am determined to see it through..

Enjoy the video!

Idaho Viewers- If you know the trail I am riding please keep the trail number / trail name private as to prevent overuse in the area. Thank you!

UPDATE: I knew going into this that I would receive a lot of flak for trying to "hide the trail from people". If you really want to find the trail, you can do some research and find it. All I was trying to do was mitigate the potential impact I could have by making a video about it. All that matters is that if you ride the trail, you respect everyone else who uses it, don't trash the area, or do anything that could cause it to get shut down like how we saw with Moab. Just be respectful please.

I am an Idaho native. Born in S. Idaho and raised on a large ranch/farm. Raced MX from about the age of eight up to right after HS graduation. Three years ago I ordered a new KTM300XCW but, during Covid it took a bit to get here. I began riding single track all over the lower half of the state and rode this trail last year. Insane and like most all trails here it is beautiful. Last year I had a slow speed crash as I didn’t realize my front tire was losing air after turning around at a huge fallen log blocking the trail. Got back to the creek (normally a creek but, a raging river after three days of rain. Turned to cross the river tire peeled a little off the rim and threw me into the river. Crawled the best I could but, couldn’t get my lower parts out of the water.
Was on a trail that looked like it was overgrown for years. It was a Monday and no riders or vehicles anywhere. After about three hours I was resigned to die. Then out of nowhere three guys came by and shortly thereafter life flight was there.
Broke my right clavicle, every rib on my right side, punctured right lung, broken ankle in three places and a torn ligament, so much for Tech 7’s protecting my feet. “This trail” is great riding but, if you want a challenge, ride “the Tour of Idaho”! Great riding to you all 🫡🤙🤙🤙

This guy is committed to his channel! This trail is nuts on a motorcycle. I might do it on a Mt bike, but hell no on a motorcycle.

Being a fly-fishing enthusiast, I'm afraid I would get distracted by all the great fishing spots I'd like to try along this trail.

I thought we rode some scary shit back in our 20's in the 80's, but this beats all we did! Great vid!

The fact, that you are legally allowed (and there are even official signs) to ride on a trail like that, is crazy to watch for a central european guy :D Would freaking love to do this. Thanks for the video and greetings from Germany.

I did trail maintenance here with the Forest Service back in 1976. Steep country formed of unstable decomposed granite. The only place to sit down was on the trail itself. Lots of drilling and blasting. It was built for horse and mule traffic. Love seeing the terrain and foliage with a hint of fall color.

Awesome video, the trail & cliffs looked killer with the variety of camera angles, especially at that time of year. Looked like a tough, yet fun ride, nice work! 🤘

Has anyone actually died on this trail? Or is it just a click bait title?

I think I experienced my entire life’s worth of riding anxiety repeated in the 20 something minutes of this video. 😂 great video, man.

Nice job on the trail. You showed good confidence and balance. I'm from NJ so I don't expect to be going there anytime soon. I appreciate you trying to keep the trail secluded and safe. I think at my age (59) I would rather walk it. Stay safe out there.

Thank you for sharing. Idaho definitely has some great trails. I haven't ridden this one yet, but may have to when I get another smaller bike.

Sitting here afraid to look over the edge of a couch and telling myself to add this track to my bucket list. 😂
Great video. Love that front fender mount and how it shows the vertical views behind you. I'll check out more soon.
Thanks for the heads up Backcountry ADV.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve ridden trails in California, Colorado, Montana, Pennsylvania & West Virginia about as challenging, many more in Alaska. I didn’t open gates or venture onto private property. Stay off of that seat and focused on the trail ahead of you when riding single track on treacherous terrain. If you must lean for balance always do it toward the wall with your bike tilted towards the drop. Happy trails.
